Namo Shetkari Samman Nidhi Yojana 2023: While presenting the budget for the year 2023-24 on March 9, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced the launch of Namo Shetkari Mahasanman Nidhi Yojana 2023 for the farmers of the state. This scheme is being started along the lines of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Through the Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi Yojana, financial assistance of Rs 6000 per year will be provided to eligible farmers. This financial assistance amount will be provided to the farmers in three equal installments. This financial assistance amount will be sent directly to the bank account of the beneficiary.

The launch of this scheme has been announced by Chief Minister and Finance Minister Devendra Fadnavis during the presentation of the Budget 2023-24 by the Government of Maharashtra. Under the Namo Shetkari Mahasamma Nidhi scheme, more than 1.5 crore farmers of the state will be benefitted. Now farmers will be able to get financial assistance of Rs. 12,000 per year under the Central Government’s Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and Rs. 6900 crore rupees will be spent by the government for the operation of this scheme. 1.5 crore farmer families of the state will be given the benefit of Namo Shetkari Maha Sanman Nidhi Yojana. Namo Shetkari Samman Nidhi Yojana 2023 Objectives
The main objective of starting the Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi Yojana by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is to provide financial assistance of Rs 6000 per year to the farmers of the state. So that better livelihood can be provided to the farmers of the state and they can be made empowered and self-reliant. Apart from this, the farmers will be insured by the government at a premium of Re 1. Let us tell you that in Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, 2 percent of the insurance premium is taken from the farmers. But farmers will have to pay only 1 percent of the insurance premium for crop insurance by the Maharashtra government.
This will put a burden of Rs 3212 crore on the exchequer every year. The only goal of the government is to make the farmers of the state self-dependent by providing financial assistance.
Namo Shetkari Samman Nidhi Yojana 2023 Benefits
- Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi Yojana is a scheme similar to the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana of the Central Government.
- Through this scheme, assistance of Rs.6000 per year will be provided to the farmer’s family by the Maharaj Government.
- This financial assistance amount will be sent directly to the bank account of the beneficiary.
- Farmers of Maharashtra will now get the benefit of financial assistance of Rs 12000 per year. Out of this, 50% will be provided by the Maharaj
- Government and the other 50% by the Central Government.
- Through both these schemes, the farmers of the state will get the benefit of financial assistance of Rs 1000 per month.
- The benefit of Namo Shetkari Maha Sanman Nidhi Yojana will be given in three installments to the eligible farmers.
- 2000 rupees will be deposited in the bank account of the farmers every three months.
- Apart from this, the insurance premium of the farmers will also be paid by the Maharashtra government.

Candidates should complete the following criteria to register themselves for the scheme-
- For Namo Shetkari Maha Sanman Nidhi Yojana, the applicant must be a native of Maharashtra.
- Only the farmers of the state will be eligible to apply under this scheme.
- The farmer should have his own land.
- The applicant farmer must be registered with the Agriculture Department of Maharashtra.
- It is mandatory for the applicant to have a bank account which should be linked to an Aadhaar card.
