The chief minister of the Sikkim state Prem Sing Tamang has again come up with a new scheme known as Aama Yojana. The Aama Yojna scheme aims to inculcate the habit of saving among non-working mothers in the state and hence the Government will provide them with Rs. 20,000 each in their bank accounts annually. The scheme covers only those whose names are enrolled in the electoral roll of the state and a sum of Rs. 100 crores have been allocated for it in the budget.

Sikkim Government is all set to launch new schemes as soon as possible. Recently, the Chief Minister of Sikkim make an announcement regarding new schemes. wherein he discussed the Aama Yojana Bahini scheme, Aama Yojana’ and ‘Vatsalya Yojana.

Aama Yojana Bahini Scheme

Bahini scheme is to detract the dropout rate of girl students due to the non-availability/availability of sanitary napkins and to ensure menstrual health and hygiene. Under this scheme, free sanitary napkins are provided to over 18,000 girl students of class 9 and above in the state.

Aama Yojana’ and ‘Vatsalya Yojana

Under the common scheme, all unemployed mothers in the state will get Rs 20,000 annually which will be deposited in their bank accounts. He said that under the Vatsalya scheme, the assistance of Rs. three lacks would be provided to childless women for in vitro fertilization treatment.
